Hi all I applied to recieve my free copy of windows 10 ages ago to find out that I was only getting it too my Surface pro 3 this morning.

so now thats all done but my Windows 7 gaming rig is still awaiting the confirmation on the installation of the free upgrade I was wondering if it will still update me for my free upgrade if I use the media creation tool to perform the upgrade then burn an iso for the clean installation i wish to use anyone else done this an can comfirm windows still activates for free after there upgrade reservation ?

thats what I was on about using :) thanks for the fast replys guys another quick one do I have to go through doing the upgrade before a clean install or can I actually go straight to a clean install from my usb

I believe you have to upgrade first.

If you force install Windows 10, be prepared for driver related issues.

Microsoft is blocking the update for those who has hardware that has issues with their drivers under Windows 10.

The "Get Windows 10" app tell you about this, if that is the case. Else it will tell you it is being released in waves in which case, you can wait, or force the update.

I'm more than prepaired for that as an IT techy :)

 

so far tho i've had no problems since upgrading the only issue I am experincing is with windows activation currently so I can't perform a clean install so waiting on a responce from microsoft
