Rising storm not working

I just got rising storm installed in steam but everytime i launch the game the screen goes all black and after a few secs it will take me back to desktop and leave the game running. I can hear the intros and the music in the menu but the screen is black the whole time. Any ideas? Maybe its having issues with my monitors resolution (1680x1050)?
