Hey guys, I have just build a new A4/A55 build with 2x 3tb Reds. I am  using it as a NAS. When I power on, every turns on, but no display and no beep from speaker. When I take out one or all of the RAM, it beeps once, which is unusual because shouldn't it give an error code for no RAM? I also tried putting in a Dedicated GPU, and same thing happened. Quite frustrating. I also broke the,,, how I explain it.. "attacher" at the end of the pci lane. I am worried if the motherboard is DOA, I may not be able to RMA for that reason.

That would be on my mind to....

Have you also tested it with just a single stick?

Do you have any other DDR3's around for testing it?

Yes, I tried with 2 different sets of RAM, 1 stick then the other, then 2, each time.

That's what I'm guessing, but hoping not.

try disconnecting all HDD's except for the one you intend to install the OS on.

try using 1 stick of ram and do so with both sticks of ram.

try removing the APU from the socket, inspecting the pins on the APU to make sure none of them are bent,if any of the pins are bent bend them back into shape carefully and reinstall it.

if possible try with different ram and a different power supply.

With attacher you mean the clip, that holds PCI-Cards in place on a phsyical side?

If this is the case there should be no reason why you can't RMA a mobo if it's DOA. The "attacher" clearly doesn't affect any electronical components on the MB.

Have you tried posting without any drives attached? You should be able to get into BIOS.

bent pins whoa, you have to be very careful when handling and installing cpu / apu,

are you using a stock cooler?

if so then recommend aftermarket cooler as a stock cooler is only pretty much good enough to get it running, also check and make sure the thermal greese is good quality and properly applied.

got to love Asus components
