Motherboard bracket question

So I found a slightly used antec h2o 650 water cooler but it doesn't come with any of the backplates. I got my motherboard used, and it already has a backplate on it, so I was wondering if I could use the backplates that is already on the mobo, or if I need to get another socket 2011 backplate?

Which motherboard do you use?

I think you'll most likey need a new backplate anyways. The backplate that goes behind the motherboard for any AIO cooler has to fit directly into the 4 holes around your CPU.

I cannot imagine that you motherboard came with such a backplate.

I have a Rampage IV Extreme, and the guy who had it before me had one of the noctua coolers on it. Do you think it would work?

I don't know. I mean it looks like it could work, but the threads for the cooler could be different.

I think you'll need most likely a new backplate.

For AMD, it's a universal backplate that you use with coolers. For Intel CPUs, each cooler comes with their own backplate that tends to be unique.
