So i though i had solved it

"So i took my PC apart and removed the cooler and cleaned the CPU and water block and replaced the thermal paste and then screwed don't the water block again and it seems fine now under 100% load its hitting temp of 45 so seems sorted now so it was just user error :P"

turn my pc on next day and my temps are in the 50s just surfing the web and hit 68+ on full load what the fuck is going on!

depending on the component, how is that a bad temperature?

considering my air cooler the xigmatek loki didnt go over 55 on full load thats a bad temp for a water cooler over a budget air cooler mate

my water cooler the nepton 240m is at 50 just using firefox

posted above is my motherboard settings i have the pump plugged in to system fan 1

I mean that's not a bad temp for any CPU.  Even the FX-9590 doesn't operate over 64 degrees...  so you're still not getting too close to that even if it was a worst case scenario.

the max safe temp of the FX 8320 is 62 degrees so ye these temp are a bit high considerign im hitting them just with one task open and that firefox my air cooler did lower than this by ease!

gonna install my air cooler again and send back the water cooler.

going to spend the extra money on corsair h100 or 110 if my antec gx 700 can fit a 110 i no it can fit a 2 240 fans at top but duno if can fit 240 rad

Well if it is running hotter than you expected, some things I would suggest you check is to make sure you don't have too much or too little thermal paste.  Also, don't reuse it.  Always apply new paste when you're adjusting it in any way.  Also, make sure it is tight, but not too tight.  What I usually like to do is tighten it all the way then undo it by about a eight of a turn of the screw.  Also, is your motherboard in DC mode or PWM mode?  With higher end water coolers it makes a huge difference.  My NZXT X61 HATES PWM with a passion.

its not running hotter than i expected its running hotter than amds guideline temps

the pump is plugged in to system fan 1 which is not being controlled at all just 12v power

but my mb does control my cpu fan (two fans on rad) with auto mode so switches between volts and pwm depend on what best at that time i believe

and i always use new paste

i think i have enough paste to change my cooler 3 more times or so so im gonna change back to my air cooler runs some test get some temps and then switch back to water run test check temps and if still higher than air cooler send the water cooler back and look for another one again

50's for just surfing the web is high. I use a small Noctua air cooler L9x65 with i7 3770(non K). My CPU temp is 35*C while surfing the web(now) with ambient temp 23*C.

do u no a decent program to check temps? (realtemp dosnt work for amd)

im using core temp atmo

I just use HWMonitor. Nothing fancy.

I'm thinking what's wrong with your cooler. If you're sure you've mounted the water block correctly, and the pump and fans are working. Then may be there is manufacturing defect. Some debris in the coolant is blocking the copper fins of the cold plate. That leads to high temp.

I've tried a few AIOs and semi-custom loop. The idle temp should be 4-6*C above ambient temp. 50's is real high unless you put you PC in a oven.

p.s. have 2 pc. one air cool, one water cool.
