CPU + Mobo Match?

Yes it is compatible. Just look at the socket of the CPU and the motherboard to tell if it's compatible. What would this build be used for (for recommendations)?

Are the Asus Rampage V Extreme motherboard and the Intel Core i7-5930k well compatible? Is there a better combination in regards to this motherboard?

And, as far as a better motherboard, you could choose one that isn't massively overpriced.....

I was trying to go for the best one on the market I could find. Is it overpriced for the performance return?

Motherboards don't account for performance. You could spend $50 on a mobo and get the same performance than you would paying $300. The only thing you are paying for is the aesthetics and a few more features.
