So i am considering buying an new ssd for the windows 10 lunch, but i am uncerten if i can download the new os on that ssd instead of the one i am currently using. So i am wondering if when i start the windows 10 install that it will allow me witch harddrive to intall it onto, sutch as windows 7 does from a new install.   

 

 

 

Why not ask this to microsoft you ask? Whell i usually get more help here then elseware.

no install windows 7/8,1 on teh ssd and then upgrade.

remove hdd when installin on ssd

For the first time only, you need to upgrade Windows 7 or 8.1 to Windows 10, that Windows can check that you have a legit version of Windows 7 or 8.1.

We don't know the exact process, but essentially this is what you need to do.

After that, if you want to clean install, you can get Windows 10 ISO, and clean install. Again, we don't know the exact details of this.
