Sunset Timelaps - Help?

Go to solution Solved by rustikles,

30(fps) x 5(s)= 150 frames

30(min) x [60(sec)/(min)] / 150 (frames) = 1 every 12 seconds

So I've been trying to film a sunset time laps movie for a little movie project of mine and I've had the a couple of issues so far.

I filmed the sun set for 30 minutes. Then I proceeded to speed up my footage. I'm not at home so I only have my macbook with me and only iMovie (yes, it hurts me too).

Well anyway, the thing is that iMovie only lets you speed up the footage 2000%, as far as I know. That is no where close to enough to make the sun go down in about 5 seconds.

...So I've come up with another idea: I'm pretty sure I can make my camera take pictures consistently at pretty much any given frame rate.

Here is where I need some help: To which frame rate do I have to set my camera in order to make a 30 minute video take 5 seconds when later set the footage to 30 fps?

Thanks a lot for any help on this issue.

Cheers'

Leonard

30 fps * 5 seconds = 150 frames

150 frames / 30 minutes = 5 frames a minute

60 seconds / 5 frames = 1 frame every 12 seconds

1.film that at smalest possible fps.

2.go to sony vegas or to premiere.

3.make it run at speed you want. (Change fps).

4.then do final rendering and set fps to 30.(or what do you want)
