I have a WD Black and was wondering if the SATA cable affects the speed. eg. SATA 3 cable vs regular

Hey iSaga,

There is no speed difference between the SATA1, SATA2 and SATA3 cables so it wouldn't matter what you use as long as your controller and your drive support a good speed. Pretty much any SATA cable can deliver you 6Gb/s.

Some cables do have latches to secure them to the drive to prevent accidental unplugging, but that does not affect the speed in any way. :)
