Nice build, but a couple of comments. In my opinion, $70 is way too much for a 550W psu when you can get a 500W for $29.99 and a 600W for 39.99.  Also, you definitely will not be able to max out any new AAA titles at 1080p with that 360 card.  You'll have to reduce settings to medium for playable framerates. Finally, there is absolutely no need to buy an aftermarket cpu cooler for locked cpu that you can't overclock anyway. The stock heatsink will work just fine.

The power supply I buy must have independent voltage regulators and the ones that you suggest are the low quality ones that work on one voltage regulator. I know the wattage is too small however since I am not getting the GPU together with the build it is okay, i can buy a new PSU and have the other there as a Spare. The core i5 will certainly last quit some time so I can be flexible with my GPUs and the CPU cooler is purely for looks :)

Yet if you plan on upgrading the psu when you get a gpu anyway it makes even less sense to spend so much on a psu that you will never even use.  Ok, it has multiple rails, that's great, but if you're only powering fans, drives and a cpu you're using less than 200W anyway and a generic 300W psu from a prebuilt would be enough.  I'm just not following the logic.

btw, that 550W should be fine for any single card solution.

That makes sense, I just have a stigma attached to the single railed GPUs. Most likely I will end up doing as you say simply because its the logical thing to do.

Lol yes i have seen

I figured, but then i thought that since you still have a stigma attached to single rails, that it was possible you hadn't.

I mean, even the cx430 which people love to hate on for it's "cheap transistors"  got a 9/10 from jonny guru

Oh yeah, the ratings on that one are pretty good. If i am only powering a CPU and fans like let's say for a HTPC or office computer then yeah single rail is perfect. Anything outside of that I am against it. In this situation, i just feel like that PSU should be a god quality. I may put it in another PC in the future and I want to have peace of mind.

Yeah, but the one's i recommended were EVGA, not the cx model, i was simply using it as an example of a psu with a bed reputation that actually is pretty decent as noted by a very credible review site.

As for the CX600M, i've used one for 2 years now with an overclock on both my cpu and gpu and never had any issues, so I don't really agree with the statement that they're not for gaming.

Heres one on EVGA: http://www.overclock.net/t/1476935/why-you-should-not-buy-an-evga-supernova-nex650g-750g-aka-g1

People often speak of EVGA and Corsair as good brands but they are just like the rest. It's good that the PSU worked out for you but I will not take the risk. I know I maybe to harsh on those PSUs but that's what happens when  companies try to sell low quality products, people like me avoid them.

Here's one for EVGA for you too...http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=377  9.9/10.

And on that very thread you linked, it even mentions that it is that specific NEX model there was a problem with, and that subsequent models are far higher quality. Further, people speak of EVGA as a good brand because they make good products, and have AMAZING customer support.  I mean, you think that evga psu is a terrible product, but you wanted to use an AMD apu for gaming...sound logic there, lol.

Maybe if I had cash like you my choices would have been better from the beginning. I am not trying to say that all of EVGAs PSUs are horrible. I am hating on just the low quality PSUs that are on the market, not just from corsair and evga but all the brands out there. And the APU computational power is better than you think, it's the same as the AMD 860k because the 860k is an APU with the gpu cores disabled. It paired with the R7 360 has the best performance for the price and you can game on max 1080p settings. Just not on the latest triple A games

The power supply being reviewed is different from the one in the link I gave you. The one you sent me is one of the better quality ones from evga
