7990 vs 970 sli

I have the chance to get two Zotac 970 amp omega's for 400. They are used. What would you guys do? Decent upgrade? I could try and sell my two 7990's to make up for the cost?

This setup will probably still outperform the 970s in SLI but also need 8x the power. I'd say it depends on what you want. If you feel the 7990s are too hot/loud then its worth it.

Well some games just perform way worse with both 7990's...that's the only reason. Plus they are sooooo hot all the time

The 7990s will perform be faster but how well has the scaling been with the four GPUs? Are the 970s 400 each or 400 for the both of them? If it is 400 for both then it would be a great deal.

Yeah like I was saying moat games perform worse with both. So I get more heat and worse performance. So would two 970's be a good choice? For 400?

Your 7990's could be sold for, say, 250$ piece ( so 500$ total )

with that you could get the 970 SLI, and at 400$ that's a good deal.

But for 4K, how much would dual 390's cost you ?
