Do I need a fan cooler

I got a spare £25 laying around for pc part I got locked system i7 4970 (non k) and stock cooler on it but I want to get the cooler master cpu cooler (the one that everyone knows not sure what the name is) and I don't know if it can fit in my case which is a corsair spec -01 baring in mind I have my gpu 970 windforce and my ram is vengeance so it's pretty big

Well you certainly don't want a fan heater.

 

A 212 EVO should fit, it isn't very big

Will be tight with EVO. Case fits 157mm and EVO is 159mm. But I've heard that Corsair tends to be pessimistic in terms of clearance.
