Hey, I'm debating on what I want to upgrade on right now. I came across some money and I will sell some things, and here are the three plans I am debating:

Option 1.

- i7-3820 (OC, these things can hit 4.2GHz+++)

- i7 comes with a 240mm AiO

- Gigabyte Z77X-UP4

- 16 GB DDR3

- Watercooled R9 390X (AiO) <<<Will get another 390X for Crossfire on birthday>>>

Option 2.

- i7-3770K OC

- 120mm AiO (I have one laying around)

- Some Asus 1155 board, OC and CF capable

- 16 GB DDR3

- Watercooled R9 390X (AiO) <<<Will get another 390X for Crossfire on birthday>>>

Option 3.

- Dual X5660s (Current)

- Already water cooled

- 16 GB ECC

- GTX 980 Ti

- I have enough leftover to watercool the GTX 980Ti, OR buy a 500GB SSD

Usage: 4K Gaming, Streaming, and occasional rendering

My birthday comes in 3 months, so it's pretty much Xeons with 980Ti, or an i7 with 390X CF down the road.

I am leaning towards the 980 Ti build with SSD, not sure. Thanks :P

Edit: Thought I should mention these will cost me all about the same amount, so don't pick a certain build because I already have the parts (I did the math with paypal fees and shipping fees, it's very accurate)

don't bother getting old cpu's. just get the new ones. amd gpu's take up way too much power. get nvidia if you're going to do something like this. get the 980 ti from gigabyte, the g1 gaming version

she already on the old Xeons

and its a dual CPU socketed system

Not sure you know the power of the X5660s, one X5660 is slightly less powerful than an i7-980 which is more than fine for modern gaming

not to mention since I have 2 of them the 12 core multi threading perfomance flat out demolishes the 5820K

i will really like to see a waterblock cooled 980Ti

Zotac hybrid cooler which is suppose to be off the charts good in performance is disappointing

Asus hybrid Posiden card fare better but only in 980 forms

The Zotac AMP Extreme looks to be the 980Ti king after the EVGA Kingpins

Im thinking this http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1166258-REG/zotac_zt_90503_10p_geforce_gtx_980_ti.html Its $650 no shipping no taxes, which is awesome! :) I think I will go for an SSD though, as I'm a big silence freak :P The 980Ti isn't that loud, but my WD Red sure is! 500GB is plenty for me, as I only use up about 150 GB (with windows included)
