Just received my brand new HyperX Cloud 2 headphones and upon plugging everything in and allowing the drivers to install it appears that the microphone is not working. The speakers are working great, I am just frustrated with the fact that I cannot get the microphone to register any audible sound the recording devices sound tab. I have also updated the realtek driver on my computer as well as trying different USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports. Hopefully someone can give me helpful information.

Have you checked the microphone mute switch on the side of the controller? Also make sure that the microphone is plugged in all the way, since it's removable.

Yes, the mic is unmuted and both the microphone and the braided 3.5mm cables are plugged in fully

Try right clicking on the sound icon in the bottom right of the taskbar, then click recording devices.

Click the Recording Devices tab, then set the HyperX headset as the default device. If you try talking into it you should see the sound meter moving.

You could also try going to device manager, locating the headset under "Sound, video and game controllers", then right-click>uninstall device, then unplug the headset. Then restart your computer and plug in the headset once again to reinstall the drivers.

If none of that works it's possible that your mic is broken, and may need to contact the manufacturer.

I had tried this already, with no luck. I am just very disappointed that my headset would be DOA.
