I have an HP Pavilion 500 and need a good graphics card. Currently it is out of the box and im going to double its ram. Any other ideas on maximizing its predominance would be appreciated. Model No. 500-270 game stuff lots of emulation and modern games. (VBA, Dolphin, ect...) 2k is my budget

2k? why not build a new pc all together...

or get a better cpu and gpu, 1150 socket includes the i5 4690k which is a beast.

That tower has only a 300W power supply. I think the best GPU it could accept would be like a GTX 750. I could be wrong here though. You would need to upgrade the PSU for anything better.

But if you're willing to drop 2000 dollarinos on a PC, build one from scratch and you will get much more bang for your buck.
