Hey guys,

I have been working in different places for some years now but it seems that I will finally be able to stay in the same place for at least 2-3 years, so I decided to go for a new rig. Because I always had to move from one place to another I am currently playing my games on a gaming laptop, but It can't keep up anymore ^^.

No budget limit, but I don't want a $5000 build :)

Here is my current plan :

CPU : I will OC it eventually.

Monitor : I am not really sure about this monitor. some users got a lot of trouble with it. The quality control and the customer service don't seems to be very efficient. Any suggestion for another good monitor like this ? I am not aiming for 4k.

I planned to buy everything in September.

Thx guys, I am in your hands :) Let me know what you think

Yep only Gaming,

I choose this CPU because of the hyperthreading. I wan't to play star citizen with full potential and since it support HT I decided to go for an I7

also: ごめん、僕はフランス人^^

あっ、そっか。がっかりヽ(●゚´Д`゚●)ノ゚

anyways. if you have no budget. why not just bump up to a 5820k with 6 cores instead of the 4790k?

Edit: like another person said. I recommend Corsair RM, AX series PSU's or EVGA's G or P series for the Supernova line.

4790K has stronger single core performance than a 5820K so it makes no sense unless you were doing CAD, rendering or something like that.

You need single threaded performance in games, not multi threaded.

Great build,

I think you should take a look at fractal design cases, but that's it's totally up to you

And get another PSU, Seasonic, XFX, EVGA or even Antec would be a better choice

TheAmazingCookieFromSquare : I am talking about all the bad review we can find on amazon. Also after checking this forum, it seems some people here too, got problems. I will use it most of the time for gaming, and sometime as a work station if I have things I need to finish.
Edit : I will check those psu

Wiplive, Hunter.Boy ? What is wrong with that psu ? Do you have any good suggestions ?

Bubblewhale : Are the skylake really gonna make a huge difference ? Even If I don't have a limit, It is still $100 higher in average. Does it worth it ?

also, no CAD, rendering etc... in mind ^^

Changed the Motherboard to match the more of a Silver and Black build.

Changed GPU to match the Silver and Black build.

Changed the PSU to something reliable and efficient, and something that can handle the 980ti in SLI if you ever want to go that route.

Added some Case fans 4x Static Pressure fans to replace the H100i fans as well as the front intake fans. Then 1 Air Flow fan for your rear exhaust.

I took out the Hybrid drive, I mean you could get it, but idk if it's necessary.

I like the Monitor choice, but to get 1440p with 144fps you are going to need a second 980ti for AAA games.

vSyNd1c4t3 : I will keep the hybrid drive, the price is more than fair.
Also I did not planned to sli. I wanted initially to sell my 980ti after 1-2year and upgrade to a better card.
I taught the 980ti was able to take on AAA games at 1440p. Am i wrong ?

vSyNd1c4t3 Komplett : Those added fan are really better than the default one ? If it does make a great difference I'll go for it ^^

Bubblewhale : I'll buy the 750D If I can find it cheap

Also, is there a best 980ti ? you showed me three different 980ti ^^, which one is the best ?

I would recommend wait for Skylake.......it's only a month or so away.

450D....sometimes you can find a 750D cheaper or the same price as a 450D.

wasnt Skylate just an upgraded Integrated GPU over Haswell/ Devils Canyon? no other improvements.

No, that is Broadwell.  Skylake, supposed to be coming this fall, is a new socket and allows for DDR4.

kay bro.  ... THAT MONITOR IS OVERKILL SIR ....

I am being very serious.

ALSO, change to a fractal case (the R series). They have many options for liquid cooling and are optimized in quiet gaming. not to mention that they come at a better prices than the case u just put in. An Evga or Seasonic or cooler master PSU is better than a corsair psu.

I am a ... NVIDIA FANBOY!

kay bro.

Why is it overkill ? I find it great for this build. Am I mistaking?

I got a lot of different opinions for my build, and everyone is telling me to change the psu, so I will change the psu ^^

I'll go for EVGA

only the very best. change the cpu cooler fans to the noctuas. change the stock rear to the nf-a14 pwm. change the stock bottom to the nf-s12 a pwm. leave the stock led fans in the front.

Following everyone advice, I'll change the stock fans. But I have a question, is the difference between stock fans and those fans that great ?

Also, this is to much for me ^^. I don't have a budget limit, but as I said in the first post, I don't wanna put too $5000 in it ^^

between 1500 and 3000 would be the best.

Thx guys, I am in your hands :) Let me know what you think

nah mate. there are better solutions that the 700 dollar monitor ...
