True but not as bad as xeons and quadros,

You shouldn't hate on the Xeons as the price is justified to what it was made for

Especially considering that most Xeons specifically the E5s were solely made to run 24 hour servers and editing builds

Quadros are the same as they are also used in massive servers

Teslas are used for servers

 

There also cheaper Xeons too (The E3 series which is as cheap as a 4690k)

 

The 5960x was more of a stepping stone for Intel, as more games utilize more than 4 cores, but then again there are only a few out there

It was more of testing the capabilities of a strong CPU built for gaming

But people then started buying it as a "cheap" solution to getting a Xeon

Quadro's are for workstations, Tesla's are the server grade hardware.
