I have an HP Pavilion 500 and need a good graphics card. Currently it is out of the box and im going to double its ram. Any other ideas on maximizing its predominance would be appreciated.

Which Pavilion-500 do you have? Some specs would be nice.

 

Upgrading prebuilts ist a mess and mostly not worth it. If you are lucky, HP doesn't use an OEM motherboard and power supply and you are free to upgrade any parts you like. I would start with the power supply because its probably a crappy low wattage piece of shit and you don't want to power a GPU off of it. Sorry  for the hard words but its the truth.

 

After that it depends a little bit on your budget and the specs of your pavilion-500. Putting in a graphics card would be a big boost in gaming performance, hence the new power supply.

Model No. 500-270 game stuff lots of emulation and modern games. (VBA, Dolphin, ect...) 2k is my budget
