so this issue is still evading me and its starting to make me almost regret building a computer myself and is very discouraging. during games like borderlands 2 and dishonored both my monitors will cut out completely saying no signal or input detected. and i have to hit the restart button on my computer for it to work again. in CPUID HWMonitor my psu 12v value is at 11.176 and my 5 v is at 5.000 my temps have all been fine the max ive seen my cpu get to is 53 c ive done valley benchmarks many times and the max my gpu gets to is 73c so what the hell is going on? my samsung is connected via a dvi cable and my asus was connected via a displayport but i decided to change that out to an hdmi cable to see if that helps at all. that was changed just a few mins ago and i havnt tried gaming yet. any suggestions or thoughts would be wonderful. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hMYxqs this is my build.

Nice build, are all the connectors plugged properly? Did you overclock anything yet? Did you try underclocking the graphics card?

With the stupid questions out of the way, this sounds like the graphics driver crashing. However usually the monitor turns back on after 3-5 secs. I would imagine that its a software error, not a hardware one.

What does the error LED on your motherboard say when this happens?

who cares...

. I've never checked my led when it happens...I never get a bsod or any type of error message and the computer runs like normal just no display I've also used two different sets of drivers as well and yeah everything's plugged in properly and secure also a note to mention I do have coil whine from my psu and nothing has been over clocked at all and I havnt tried underclocking

Check on that LED.

The coil whine can be normal. my 850W G2 also coil whines a little bit.

Does the crash also happen on desktop? You could try to take out the graphics card, install the Intel HD graphics drivers and play a bit with this setup to see if the crash remains. Or if you ahve an alternative graphics card, use that.

That way you can amke sure if the GPU is okay. Maybe the crash only appears under extended PSU load, so an alternative GPU would be the better way if testing.

. It's only during gaming and I do t have a spare gpu I can see if it happens again and check the debug led when it happens see if it displays anything other than the CPU temp when it occurs any other possible suggestions? Could it be my psu?
