Computer having screen flickering issues

So ever since I got my PC about a year ago my monitor would either flicker or turn off for about 3 seconds then come back on. I thought it was the monitor so I switched it out and it still have the problem. I also switched HDMI cords and that also doesn't work. I have both my graphics cards updated also. I'm not really sure what the issue is but it get's annoying when I am playing a game. Any help is appreciated.

power issue? try putting the monitor on its own outlet instead of a power strip.

Okay I will give that a shot. I didn't know if it was a PC part issue or not.
