Windows 10 GPU problems

Go to solution Solved by Thx And Bye,

Did you try to install the older driver?

For Win8 it should be no problem, but im not 100% sure about Win10, since it has a new WDDM (2.0) interface for the grafics driver and im not sure if there are Win10 driver for the X1250.

But it should be possible to run older drivers with WDDM 1.X support on Win10 aswell.

So I have an HP Compaq 6515b that I have done some work on during my free time and decided it would be a perfect laptop for school and in general a portable system. I installed Windows 7 on it and it works great but I also wanted to dual boot XP, Vista and 10 (Which I have done successfully except for 8 & 10)

It has an ATI Radeon X1250 Mobile GPU

I wanted to know if there is a way to run a Windows 7 driver in compatibility mode assuming (from what I can tell) it is the same as Windows 8.

I know that the GPU does not support newer versions of Direct X and this probably why I am having this issue.

Thanks  :)

(It is not a big deal if I can not get this to work, just thought I might try)

That worked, found a 3rd party Windows 8 beta driver and so far so good :)
