Get a be Quiet! PureRock CPU cooler. It's quieter and has better temps.

Go for an r9 380 it's a way better GPU for around the same price.

For the PSU I don't reccodmend the CX series, get the EVGA GS or G2 series PSU.

You can do much better than the 960. Try the 380, a much better card. From what I've heard, you might want to pick something else rather than the Corsair CX series. Try the xeon 1231v3 and a most likely cheaper B85 motherboard with 4 ram slots. The xeon is pretty much an I7, without an IGPU, so it should last a while.

Oh man ... no one likes CX and 960.... Never had problem with CX. and I have always been a Nvidia guy. Own the 260 460 660Ti

I switched out the 960 with a Asus Strix-R9380, CX with a Seasonic S12G-550 550W.

Like I mentioned, there is a 128GB SSD from the monitor. So not really looking to buy a samsung.

Reason why I go with 16G is that 5 years is a might long time. The price different is not that great. and by the time he has to upgrade DDR3 might be expensive and hard to find.

No aftermarket cooler since in either build can you overclock. Different monitor, same size and quicker response time. Better gpu. A cpu that's practically an I7. A pretty good keyboard and mouse combo. 2tb of storage since this is going to be used for 4-5 years.

I don't see the SSD.

$4 dollars over budget. See if he can spend an extra 4 bucks. If not switch to a 1 tb hard drive and buy the biggest external storage device you can with left over money.

Why thank you my good sir.

Thanks for all the great feedbacks. I did switched to a Seasonic PSU, and the CM mouse/keyboard.

I would go for the Xeon if it was for myself, but knowing my cousin, it's better off just stay with the i5. If the GPU dies unexpectedly he can still run it off the CUP for a bit. It's not like he will benefit from the Xeon anyway.

I went back to the 960. The heat output of AMD is annoying. Never a fan of AMD driver. Financially speaking. AMD is in some black hole. I fallow their stock pretty closely, honestly, I don't know how much longer they will last. Sold my shares not too long ago. A little sacrifice in performance is worth it. Plus .... I am not the one using it haha.

This form really is amazing. I put this up for like 3 minutes, already got a ton of feedbacks. Once again, thanks ! I will post some pictures later this week when I am done building it.

It's not going to be a little sacrifice in performance. It's going to be a lot of sacrifice in performance.
