Poster Frame Orientation

This might seem odd / stupid but..

I have a poster that is 27x40in (landscape), the only poster frames I can find that fit the dimensions are ones that are portrait - or at least all pictures display them like this. Can you just change the orientation of a poster frame?

As long as the hook on the back (if it has screws than it's good) is in the right position and frame does not look weird it's good to go

 

Some pictures would help, maybe I don't understand your request properly :P
