Hello Linus, Luke and forumites. I was wondering if you could help me with a issue that is bugging me quite a bit.

I had a EVGA GTX 460 EE, it was a good overall card but it was time for a upgrade.

So I got myself a EVGA GTX 970 FTW+ and my performance hasnt been that great compared to my friends that have various 970's (MSI,Galax) They report getting 40-50 more FPS in the same games at the same places on the same settings. In BF4 they get 110FPS and I get 60-70'ish

Here are my specs:

-I5 2500k at 3.3GHz (turbo to 4.0 to see if its a bottleneck issue)

-EVGA GTX 970 FTW+ @ 1400MHZ (@PCIEXPRESS 2.0)

-Corsair Dominator 16GB DDR3 @1333MHZ (4x4GB)

-Asus P8Z77-M

-Xigmatek Vector S850W

Driver: 353.49

Win 7 X64

1080P only.

Thanks guys, I hope to hear from you.

definitely not a cpu bottleneck. could possibly be drivers, if you didn't wipe the old ones before switching cards.

Are they not the same drivers?

the downloaded file is the same, but the installed drivers are definitely unique for different cards, or at least for different architectures.

It might be windows 7 bro, I had so many issues with bf4 stuttering and low fps, windows 8.1 did the job.

Would it really be a issue with windows 7? Why though?

I believe it's to do with directx support, win 7 doesn't fully support 11.1, but not everybody has issues with windows 7 but I was one of the unlucky ones.

Why don't you and your mates play another game together and see if fps is the same ? Then you know if it's windows 7.

Win 7 is also not as CPU efficient compared to Win 8.1 and 10.
