Installing new GPU

Im about to install my new MSI R9  380. Im just wondering, do i need to uninstall my old graphics software before i install the new GPU and the drivers for it?

No. Catalyst should automatically detect it...

But it is not recommended that you don't uninstall and reinstall to be safe

You need to unninstal your old gpu drivers before installing otherwise there could be issues. Go to Add/remove programs utility

Yeah i thought it mightconflict withthe new drivers, the screen does go completely black when i remove the drivers right?

No, there will be no problems. If you previously had a Nvidia graphics card then you will want to install the AMD drivers after you put the 380 in of course.

 

Edit - You may need to restart you PC after the card is installed for some programs like MSI Afterburner to properly detect the hardware change. Oh also, if you aren't going to use your old 260X for anything you might want to keep it in for F@H.
