My dvd drive doesn't show up.

It shows up when nothing is in the drive at bootup

but when i leave a game in the drive and restart the computer, the DVD drive is not showing up.

I always leave the GTA SA's disk in the drive because it is requires it to play,

and i don't have any other games that require the DVD to turn on.

Humm might be the sata port try making sure there plugged in nice and correctly if the drive is broken just get a new one. there only 10$ at most

The drive isn't broken.

For some reason it hates having a disc plugged in during boot up and i had to turn off the PSU for it to show up.

Try another cd and see if it has the isse. maybe making sure on your BIOS boot order it loads up on your main C:// drive instead on the CD ROM. The computer might be trying to lunch on the game or whatever is in the CD ROM

I'll check my bios now.

I'll put in a XP Pro install disc and hope the drive shows up and doesn't enter setup (lel)
