Windows 8.1

Hello there, I currently have Windows 7 Installed and only have a single HDD, is there a way I can install Windows 8.1 (This is from the download assistant using Product Key only) and install it onto another drive so I can test it with my current pc (DRIVER THINGS?) 

 

PS: I have the product key and its legitmate before anyone says anything, I'm paying to test this.

Looking at your setup there wont be any driver problems, just wait for windows 10 instead of buying windows 8.1 now

 

...or just upgrade to Win 8.1?

 

I already have an 8.1 Key from a little while back and I just want to upgade to it for now, and the reason I want to put it on a separate drive is because I don't have a external drive big enough to hold all of my steam games and adobe applications.

Should I just install Windows 7 on another drive, not activate it and download windows 8 on that install?
