Deactivating touchpad

Picked up a used Asus ROG G74SX recently. I use an external mouse - only problem is that my hand touches the trackpad when typing and activates the cursor. Anyway to deactivate with Win 8.1? Tried the usual but don't see any options. Both Asus touchpad drivers don't run with Win 8.1 - it's using a generic Microsoft driver; 6.3.9600.17480

If its a notebook, there should be a function key to disable it on your keyboard.

Either go with the functions key or disable it entirely from device manager. :)

take apart laptop, pull out the 4pin ribbon cable that connects the mouse to the MB. should be right beside the huge KB ribbon cable.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

Yea, the key f9 isn't working with Win 8.1

You don't just spam f9. You press "FN"(not the keys "F" and "N", theres a function keyu written "FN" and then F(w/e the disable touchpad key is)

Doohhh. I should have thought of that..... obvi I did. The problem is that the Asus drivers are not fully Win 8.1 compatible - specifically the driver for the touchpad
