So is this build going to be ok for around 6 months or so? I'm trying to go cheap then start getting better quality hardware.

Yes, very good. But swap that Seagate HDD for an SSD, like the Crucial MX100, and use it as boot drive. It will do wonders in terms of performance.

You don't need a core i7 for gaming just get the i5 4690k and use the money you saved to get a r9 390x or a 980.

You won't get much better than that. That build is kinda top of the line hardware, except for the missing SSD.

Oh well I need a good PSU because I'm going to overclock.

Get a 650GS, and use the stock cooler until you can get a decent cooler that would allow you to overclock more, and spend the extra 10$ for pretty ram.

Do any of you have an suggestions on a cheaper PSU with enough wattage to do a lot of overclocking on?

That PSU already has more than enough for overclocking. But this one might be able to handle crossfire

Sorry it's compatible but it's kind of pricy.

How about this?

Also get a better case like the 200r.
