sorry it's an 4690k

Get a Z87 or Z97 board that had good reviews.

For a 4690K, basically any Z97 motherboard will get you extremely good overclocks. For cheap stuff, the B85 chipset overclocks and some H81 chipsets overclock, just not very well.

You would destroy a H81 or B85 motherboard if you tried to overclock it at all significantly the power delivery on them is not made to handle it.

That's with a G3258 which has a bit more than half the power consumption of the 4690K.

Oh, whoops. Sorry.

I only have seen one guy who overclocked a quad core CPU on a h81 motherboard and was able to get away with it, in all my time on the forms.

That was this one guy who got a 4790K stable going at 4.9ghz on a voltage of 1.18V(If I remember correctly) witch is batshit insane luck.
