120 hz cables?

Go to solution Solved by Godlygamer23,

Should I just grab the first Display Port 1.2 cable I can find on newegg?

That should be fine.

Hi guys. I recently had to RMA my GTX 780 and EVGA is sending me a 970 instead. Here's the problem:

I currently run 2 monitors; 1080p 120hz and 1680x1020 60 hz. I'm using DVI-D for the 1080p panel and DVI-I for the other. The 970 they've sent has 1 DVI-D, 2 Display Port and HDMI. I want to know 2 things:

1 - Can I use the DVI-D port/cable to run the 1680 panel?

2 - What cable should I get to continue running at 120 hz using one of the 3 other ports?

use displyport for your 120hz monitor

Use DisplayPort whenever you can. That stuff is awesome

There is no difference between DVI and DisplayPort in video output quality for the most part.

No, but it has a locking connector and is needed for G-Sync and FreeSync.

DVI is a more secure connector considering it screws in.
