So, I have this Acer laptop here (E5-551-89TN). I was wondering if it was compatible with the newer a10 chips. It's currently running an a8-7100. I'm aware that sometimes processors are soldered onto the mobo, but I have a hard time finding technical specifications for this one on the internet. If possible, Which is the best processor could I place in there, if any? Benchmark comparisons would be cool too.

The apu is probably soldered into the socket and desktop and laptop processers are not interchangable

<p>Wish I could have this already!! : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qTLRjX

Oh, I wasn't planning on trying to fit a desktop APU in there, heavens no. I was going to find a mobile chip on eBay or something. I HAVE swapped a processor back in the day on a dell laptop that was running on pentium.

It's soldered

That's a desktop CPU

This is a signature.
