SLI Compatability

Go to solution Solved by LurzKesh1138,

Nope, SLI with two different models doesn't work sadly. And about the 8350 bottlenecking the 970, have you tried oc'ing the 8350? Helped tons with my 8120 and 780.

Quick question about SLI

Can I SLI a MSI 960 with my already existing MSI 970? I looked all around NVIDIA FAQs, forums, etc. and can't seem to find any solid answer, so I must turn to you guys. I have gotten answers saying you can only SLI same form factor cards, but I don't want to throw money at a 960 and find out they aren't the same form factor/chipset. I'm looking into going SLI here soon but I don't really want to invest another $350 for another 970 since it's quite a bit to spend and I'd much rather replace my AMD 8350 with an i5 4590 and ASUS Z97 with that kind of money to get more out of my MSI 970 that is already in my system.

(I feel like my 8350 is bottlenecking my 970...? Another topic for another day.)

Thanks!

Yeah I got a steady 4.5 yesterday, havn't had too much time to test a lot of games. Thanks for the answer on the SLI, probably saved my dumbass $250 :D
