Need help with Bro's PC

Go to solution Solved by Riddler356,

found a build that will work, sorry to bother you.

it's ok, its not like its housing titans, or octdeca cores or anything.

Yes but the CX series does not like being in hot environments. Most of them fail from being in a case that gets toasty on the inside, it's not the amount of power they are putting out that kills them.

the heat part shouldn't be a problem since the room it is going in is usually sitting at 75F or less.

Nothing to see here, move along

I know you wanted Amazon primarily, however since its hard to find deals on Amazon that actually beats Newegg i came up with a nice solution.

This build, will play most modern games at around 30-45 FPS at 1080p, while that may not be impressive, you dont need a lot to improve it. Simply use this for now, and when you need more horsepower, buy a R9 280, R9 380 or R9 280X. Perhaps you will find a great deal for GPUs around Black Friday?

Yes, a intel i3 setup would be slightly better, but this would come at the cost of the graphics card. While a G3258 + R9 270X/GTX 750Ti would be faster then my initial setup, it would also need a equally expensive upgrade (going from G3258 to i3 or i5 costs abut the same as a R9 280 or R9 280X)....

Check with your brother, if he doesnt mind having slightly lower FPS for a little while, then this would be cheaper. Imean, its already over 100USD under your 500 USD limit. Thus youve saved 100USD which you can pocket and use for the GPU upgrade in the future.

Ive dimensioned the PSU and the rest of the system to be ready for a Sapphire Tri-x TOXIC 280X (the most power hungry and expensive one), if you chose a less hardcore 280x, or R9 380 or GTX 960 instead, then you will have plenty of headroom to spare.
