I currently have my steam installation on a 640GB WD Blue that i have in a external enclosure and its near full. the drive is becoming slow because it's full and I have defragmented it a bunch of times but I always move stuff around and my games load to slow. i recently figured out how to reinstall origin without having to re download my games again and I wanted to put both Steam and origin on their own HDD so I can separate them from my OS drive and my external mass storage but I cant figure out what drive to go with. Currently i am stuck on a WD drive because IMO WD makes the best quality drives. I want something for performance but can't decide to get another blue or a black.

PS: drive will be 1TB in size or larger if the price is good.

Seagate makes rather nice 1TB+ drives with good prices.

^ This. The 1TB Barracuda 7200 is available on Newegg for 70$: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148840

Also, price scales really well with larger drives. Basically, 1TB is about $70-80, an extra $20 will get you 2TB. Eventually it ends up being about $40 total per TB on larger drives (which is sweet!)

I mean, yeah, you have two options, WD and Seagate.

You're not really any more or less likely to have problems going with one drive or another.  So just pick something.

Intel Core i7-7700K | EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW | ASUS ROG Strix Z270G Gaming | 32GB G-Skill TridentZ RGB DDR4-3200 | Corsair AX860i

Cooler Master MasterCase Pro 3 Samsung 950 Pro 256GB | Samsung 850 Evo 1TB | EKWB Custom Loop | Noctua NF-F12(x4)/NF-A14 LTT Special Edition

Dell S2716DGR | Corsair K95 RGB Platinum (Cherry MX Brown) | Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum | FiiO E17 DAC/Amp | Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro
