You can never be taught to become an "expert" in programming.

IMO to become an "expert" you have to acquire it through years of experience not just teachings.

to start learning however and progress from being a beginner you can use CodeAcademy http://www.codecademy.com/

Code Avengers https://www.codeavengers.com/ Udacity  https://www.udacity.com/ khanacademy https://www.khanacademy.org/computing/computer-programming

if you wan't premium paid ones tutsplus and lynda provide courses from the basics to specific languages, game engines and environments

Are you a PC Gamer? A good place imho would be PC game modding: you've got lots of community support, previous code you can look at since people are cool sharing what they did before, and it will slowly get you into coding first with simple file edits, then simple scripts, and so on and so forth.

It depends on what language you want to learn...

If you are looking to learn things like HTML or JS, then Codecademy is a great website!

Like @Komplett said, Barnacules made some tutorials for C# called Codegasms.

If you are just wanting to learn the basic rules of programming, but you are not really looking to learn a really useful language, Scratch might be the website you're looking for.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

You definitely need to learn some fundamentals of programming.

There are a few websites out there, but they are limited in the amount of stuff you learn.

If you really want to learn (past the basics) you will need to pick up a project, and work on it.

I'd definitely recommend codecademy.com. Its free and really good at teaching. Mostly for web languages and app design, it can teach you HTML/CSS, PHP, javascript, JQuery, Angular.js, Python, Ruby, and ROR so far, and they're still adding more languages. Here's a simplified list:

Website Design:

-HTML/CSS

Web Scripting, DB Embedding, and Website Functionality:

-javascript

-JQuery (advanced javascript)

-Angular.js (advanced javascript)

-PHP

Application Design and Functionality:

-Python

-Ruby

-ROR (advanced Ruby)
