Hey guys! I'm looking for some input for a build for a computer for just everyday light use, ex. just web browsing and simple things like that.
What I have so far is this, UPDATE: No longer need a monitor http://pcpartpicker.com/p/zQ9mZL
Any input towards it would be greatly predicated, it's meant to be a gift computer.

that's good but if you plan on upgrading that Power Supply is good if not then ditch it and look for something smaller

It's going to be a gift to my parents, who one, really don't need more than that for storage. Again, it's for light use, and if needed I have a spare HDD I can just throw in there. I'm just looking to see if there are better parts for a better/good price.

edit: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/f2GTgs

29 more dollars; much better motherboard (and cheaper) and MUCH MUCH better monitor.

That 15.6" monitor is terrible, a joke, this one is 21.5" and 1080p Maybe it's not the best but...

For daily use 120GB are enough and I'm sure he has an old PC with a HDD. Edit: a new PC for parents, better, they will only facebook.

Yeah, I just picked out a random monitor. I'm being taken to the same build with the link you posted, I'm not seeing anything new.

I see your price is totaling at around 300$, i would suggest this build by austin evans:

Although this is kind of a 'gaming pc' build, it would work brilliantly as an everyday pc. Especially if the person you are giving it to has kids who would enjoy playing games like minecraft etc etc.

Forgot to mention, the power consumption at load is only around 100w, brilliant for an everyday computer which may be on for long period's of time

That build is irrelevant as it doesn't include monitor. Without monitor, he could put an i3 for more than twice CPU performance. Or 8GB of RAM

I suppose, i did recommend the build if the person he is giving it to has kids who like to play, if not i would go with the one he has now.

It's to my parents, and I'm the youngest kid they have, haha.

ah right, then the one you are going with sounds good, maybe just a little more storage? If they are going to be putting family videos/pictures on there, if your that type of family that does videos xD Theres no inbetween, your family either does videos on camcorders every day of your life, or they don't.
