I built my first computer a few weeks ago and I decided to get another monitor to go along with it.

My monitors are now both 1920x1080, 60hz.

When moving the windows around on any screen with transparency on Windows 7 enabled the windows will lag and I find it hard to move the windows, with it disabled the windows move smoothly and with no issue. I have tried this many times with the same programs running each time and after searching on the internet for some help I found that most people found it to be with the aero transparency,

CPU: i7-4790k 4.0ghz
GPU: GTX Geforce 980 TI
Current drive which has windows on is a 120GB Crucial SSD
16GB RAM

All drivers are currently up to date, my graphics drivers are running on Nvidia's Geforce Game Ready Driver, 353.30

Does anyone know a work around? I really enjoy the transparent feature of Windows but at the time I haven't been able to use it due to this problem.

Thank you.

odd, sounds like something is broken somewhere, might as well give this one a try:

open cmd as administrator and type the following:

sfc /scannow

doubt it'll be that simple, but let me know what the results are. (it'll need to run for a bit)

After running the test, the result was: Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

are there any oddities that you can see? (high cpu usage, high temps, high ram usage, etc)

CPU: 29 °C

Motherboard: 31 °C

GPU: 34 °C

Doesn't look too hot.

I have noticed my RAM being used up to 5.40GB, When having steam, a few chrome tabs, League of Legends, and a few other programs at any one time. I'm not sure if that is irregular

sounds about normal, i'm a bit on a loss here then...

how long since your last reboot / since you last turned off the machine?

Currently the computer has been on for about 2 hours.

PS. with the RAM, the chrome tabs are basically using up a ton of it, when closing the tabs it goes back down to about 3.5 - 4 gb
