ive heard alot of problems and its really put me off from buying one. some where it wouldnt let your computer sleep, and some where it would run as hot as 120 degrees. any owners out there that can clear things up?

that was an exaggeration the max temp is 94 degrees. Impossible for it to hit 120

They're not. That's ridiculous. The 390 is better than the 290x and is even better than the 970.

They preform the same according to that graph except for tomb raider, anyway It was comparing a possibly factory OC'd card with a custom cooler to a reference cooler card.

It's not overclocked. The core clock is at stock and the cooler doesn't affect the graphics performance of the card. The clock speed does. besides, they don't perform the same. All of the graphs show a 4 fps or more difference. It even performs better than the 290x in all of those graphs although if you want to see more then go here.

You'll see that it outperforms the 290x and even the 970 in some cases. They're not the same card with extra vram.

the R9 390 is probably the best price to performance card you can buy right now, especially if you are gaming at 1440p.

The 390 is a 'refresh' of the 290, but it has been refined in quite a few ways and the extra memory speed (resulting in 20% higher memory bandwidth) means it pulls away from the 290.

I would recommend the Sapphire Nitro 390 as that was fantastic, if you have any other questions just let me know cause I just finished testing the 390 heaps against the 290 & 970.
