When I first got GTA V it was ok. I couldn't play on the highest settings, but I didn't have to play on the lowest either. Recently it has started lagging a lot and sometimes crashes. I've put all the settings to the lowest that they can go, turned down the resolution from 1080p, reinstalled it and updated drivers, but it still lags. I don't understand why it's suddenly started lagging, please help.

It's GTA..

My friend has the 7950 at stock speed, and he can play the game at Very High/High with good fps, but he has an i5, an i5 really helps in this game.

Since the last GTA update alot of people are experienceing these issues though..

how recent is recently? the newest update on gta seems to have performance issues. i've been lagging more than usual and its using a lot more resources for me.

That's probably what it is; it has been worse since the update. I didn't even think of that.

Try installing it on ur SSD for now see if that makes a difference as the file sizes are really big the harddrive may not be able to cope with the read & writes.. or ull have to wait till they come out with a new patch in the following weeks

I was going to install on on the SSD when I got it, but there isn't enough space for it.

Hey General Sock,

I would check the load of your parts when playing and see if anything hits 100% and bottlenecks the other hardware. Try running the game with nothing else running in the background and see if there's any improvement. Besides the loads, check also the temps of your parts and see if this is not an overheating problem.
Make sure you have all the latest OS updates, besides the driver ones.
If nothing helps it might be from the game itself so I'd call the support for some advice. :)

Captain_WD.

If this helped you, like and choose it as best answer - you might help someone else with the same issue. ^_^
