What is the speed of your internet, number of devices you are going to have connected, what range you need, if you want 2.4 and 5 ghz. All of those things affect what router you should buy.

Main work PC:Surface Pro 3 i3 with a 128 GB micro sd card

Speed is 50/50 devices let's say alot around 50, range our office is 7900 sqft, 2.4ghz should be fine but 5ghz would be nice

Business routers are more expensive and sometimes allow for more clients and other features seasoned IT folks like.

However, you can achieve the same, if not better with a consumer router (like you say, ASUS) and custom firmware.

what are some of the other features?

if you dont mind being adventurous get the best spec consumer router you can and flash open-WRT onto it. that will let you do anything you need. some features that many consumer routers usually don't include are more complex network authentication systems, DDNS functionality to host a webserver or web application on a dynamic (cheap) internet plan. Intricate programmability like firing custom events based on port triggers. (for whatever weird things you do like port knocking, or custom application features) and more. Another thing rarely done right on consumer all in one routers is seamless network extension. with proper business infrastructure that can be accomplished.

I much rather not mess with the router because i'm not that great with this kind of stuff, I'm good at computer stuff, but internet stuff like routers, im not great at
