Power usage/consumption

Hello everyone!

 

 

I am upgrading my PC and I currently have a 750w 80+ bronze psu. I used one of those "how many watts is my computer using" websites (http://bit.ly/1cb7y5Z) to see how much it would, theoretically, use and consume. I am a bit worried because with all the parts I will be using, it totaled out at 700 watts. Is 50 watts enough wiggle room? Do I need to upgrade to a 1000 watts psu? Please help! Thanks!!

1. Is there any chance you may want to expand or upgrade in the future

2. Are you planning on having this rig for a while.

3 Are you oc

4. What quality of psu is it (bronze, gold, platnuim)

1. eventually, yes

2. yes

3. no overclocking

Ok so if you are planning on having it for a while you have to think about the fact that all psus's degrade over time. I would go for at least 30% over what you need, bronze are good and I tend to buy them.

I think a 850 bronze would have you looking good for a couple of years.

 

Sorry forgot to ask how old is your current psu?

It's pratically brand new, bought it mid 2014--I also forgot to mention that I am planning to water cooling in the near future... so will a pump eat up more then 50w? And Should I just go with a 1000w psu so I am just 'good for life'?
