Command Block Help (Minecraft)

In someone's adventure map, which I help making, there is a command block under a pressure plate and it needs to do 2 things, give you blindness for 5 seconds (effect @p 15 5) and teleporting (tp @p x y z), but there is only space for 1 command block... Is it possible to combine those 2 commands in 1 command block?

Let the command block place a redstone block somewhere high up in the sky, which then activates two different command blocks with the different commands, and another command block that removes the redstone block again.
