RAM Help

Hey, i just got into thinking about my ram setup after watching the latest tech quickie video

if i have 2*2 GB Kingston 1333 MHz RAM will it bottleneck my 8GB 1600MHz Kingston HyperX Blu? - I have a total of 12 GB RAM with all the sticks

I'm wondering if my PC will be faster despite having 4 GB of memory less

PC Specs:

AMD Phenom II 965

Gigabyte GTX660ti OC

Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3 Motherboard

256 GB Plextor MP5Pro SSD

PSU: 750 Watt noname

your memory will run at 1333MHz. Technically a bottleneck but negligible difference . Even if you buy 2 dual channel kits at 1600MHz they may not run at 1600MHz if all 4 slots are populated.

Its luck of the draw :)

You're fine don't worry about it too much.

I have already got all of the ram and yes it runs at the 1333 MHz' RAM speed, I was just wondering if anyone had some experience with this. but I think that I will be fine :-)

I have never personally had problems with the more sticks of ram the less stable it will be. I know sometimes it can cause problems with the overclock on a processor or the speed that the individual sticks are running at. In my opinion, I don't think the stability becomes a problem until you are trying for bleeding edge overclocks or speeds that the sticks of ram aren't really rated for.

It seems as if you guys don't understand my question:

Will 8 GB 1866 run faster than 12 GB 1333? :-)

Yes, 1866 is faster than 1333. It depends what you're doing to if you would really notice it though.

Also if you use more than 8GB of RAM for anything the 12GB of 1333 would be the better option
