Location and Budget:

My budget would be around $2500 USD and I'm in California .

Aim:

I plan to do heavy gaming such as crysis 3 and skyrim with texture mods as well as working on resource intensive video programs. I would like a build with thought on features and performance.

Monitors:

I plan to use two monitors.

Peripherals:

Not needed as I have them already.

Reason for Upgrading:

I need a performance computer that I don't need to replace for a few years ahead. I currently do not have my on PC.

Thanks ahead of time for the inputs!

Firstly - thank you for using the proper format :D

3570K for gaming alone/3770K for video work

Asus P8Z77-V series board

8 or 16 GB of RAM @1600

2 or 4GB GTX680/670

h100i/DH14/h80i

Samsung 840 Pro SSD or the new OCZ drive

Seagate Barracuda drives

case of your choice

Corsair AX/Silverstone Strider 600w or 750w PSU. You can get away with 5-600w but if you want the Corsair Link, the smallest PSU with it is 760w.

It's a rough list but it should get you started. Building a PC isn't just here are the parts you need and go. There's a lot of personal choice behind things, especially with boards, graphics cards and cases.

Total: $1,258.90

- If you'll be thinking of going CrossFireX in the future then you may want to pick up the 750W version of the HIVE for $90.

- I would of chosen the Caviar Black drive but I couldn't seem to find reasonable capacity drives so I went with the Blue (which is still a great drive).

- You'll be able to achieve a great overclock with the Phanteks cooler and looks really good. If you are going for just a small overclock then you could go for the Enermax ETS-T40-TB for $35 and you'll be able to give your system a respectable overclock.

Good luck building!

Edit: I managed to find a Caviar Black; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136533 -- costs $100.
