Watery thermal paste

Go to solution Solved by Fictionvl,

So basically it was the stock cooler that had issues, not the thermal paste, it didn't matter, I got a Hyper T4 off a friend and it works like charm I don't go over 60c thanks everyone

@Textosterone @Prokart2000

Okay so a couple of months ago, my friend built a PC, and he had some left over thermal paste in a an injection type of tube

and I recently had a problem with my CPU and its overheating, so I opened up my PC took off the heatsink and I tried to re-apply thermal paste

and as I was applying it, some droplets of apparently watery thermal paste and then the actual thermal paste came out with that, and I had to clean and re apply and the same thing happened, so I just applied it and closed it and my temps are still high

is that an issue?

Try shaking it. I would recommend to get a new one they are not expensive at all.

I know I can get a new one but the problem is, I don't have a car, and I don't have any computer shops near me, I'll try shaking it, I hope it works

This sucks, because my CPU idles at 50c and I can do nothing about it, when I play games it goes up to 90c and starts to thermal throttle in games

Im using coolermaster and im running 14 degrees with an overclock. Im also using a liquid cooler so that's helping it a little.

From that bunch i would get MX-4. Outperforms AS5 by a little bit, no curing time, its not conductive or capacitative and i've read reports of arctic silver 5 staining copper over the long term, Go with MX-4. The specs say electrically conductive for some reason, i am 100% sure they meant NON conductive, cause it's not...lol, even if it was, no one would put that on the spec sheet, AS5 doesn't, and their paste actually is capacitative

No, amd has bad temp sensors, is an incorrect reading.

Your temps can't be that low unless it's like 10 degrees c (or 50 degrees f) in your room
