the Nvidia architecture is more uupdated than the AMD one, so they can have more power per core and thus also a lower TDP. Its the same with an AMD fx 8350 and i5 4690k, at 4Ghz on both, the i5 will rek the FX CPU any day, even deo the FX has 8 cores, whereas the i5 has 4 cores.

You can't directly compare 2 different architectures so easily. It's the same reason you can't take a pentium 4 and core 2 duo and say that pentium is faster since it has more GHz. It all depends on the way things are structured and utilized. I don't really possess a lot of knowledge here so I will stop here before I say something incorrect. Keep in mind that Fury X's drivers have not seen an update since launch and seeing how everyone's results differ so wildly (Tech of Tomorrow showed the Fury X and 980 Ti being neck and neck whereas other sites have shown fury beating it and/or being crushed. Give everything a chance to settle down and then we'll know the real and solid performance of the Fury X. I doubt it will become drastically better but if AMD unlock memory and voltage tweaking, then that's a whole other story.
