Noisy stock fan

Hey everyone.

 

So I finally got to play some games with my new R9 280 and I noticed while I was playing, the stock fan seemed to ramp up the maximum it could go(my processor is the A10-6800k).

 

And it did so so much to the point it sounded like I should turn the game off so the CPU and fan don't damage themselves, leaving it to be very loud while playing games on higher graphics.

 

Is this normal? And if so, should I get an upgrade?

Just a couple things.

1. Fans don't die after running at 100% for extended periods. Over a long period of time (months/years) it might be bad, but not just while gaming.

2. Your CPU will throttle once it reaches a certain temperature in order to keep it from roasting.

3. Yes, it's normal. If the noise is unbearable, then it is worth an upgrade.

Buy a cheap aftermarket cooler this is a typical issue when it comes to AMD coolers... :(

the fan wont really hurt itself, in the time frame that you play games at, and the cpu will throttle before temps get out of control/ it hurts itself.

 

Its generally what stock fans do, as thy are meant to be "good enough", and as long as the cpu does not overheat, they have done their job, irregardless of how loud they get in the process...

 

if you would like lt it to be quieter, then either upgrade it, or check the cpu temps, and impose a quieter fan curve, if the temps are not that bad
