Just put the motherboard on, align the MIDDLE standoff in the center of the case and screw in the 8 screws on the outside of the motherboard.

Check the case manual? Usually it tells you which ones are installed at certain points. The one you mentioned is probably the middle one for you to set it on for easy installation of the rest. Check the second one and see if it's mentioned anywhere in your case manual. Picture might help.

If Im referring to the one standoff youre talking about, thats just to hold the motherboard in place for the time being, you need to screw in the other 9 (I think?) screws into the correct holes that are already on the case's motherboard tray.

What size screws?

The ones that came....with the case...
