I just started playing this game a few hours ago, and I must say, it is wonderful. I've found it emotionally affecting in ways that video games rarely achieve. Have you played it yet? In minimally spoilery terms, how has it been for you?

I bought it based on a recommendation from a friend. Holy hell, I was engrossed. (It's also on Sale with BioShock 1&2 on Amazon for $10US, keys work on steam) I'm glad I had a controller to play it with, it really helped the clunky controls. I beat it the same night. It's nice to have a shooting game that's "grown up" so to speak.

Yes! Finally games to really broach mature themes and topics, as opposed to having the 'M' rating on the box for having a few curse words and breasts in the game. It's one of the reasons I'm looking forward to continuing The Walking Dead game - I played the first episode last night. I'm also really looking forward to playing Bioshock: Infinite, as well, for its approach of things like racism and religion.

I've heard good things about it several times, it's currently $2.50 on Amazon right now if you have the editor's choice promotion coupon. Just don't know if that's what I want to use mine on.

There are a ton of great choices to use that coupon on, but Spec Ops might not be worth your money for that if you treasure the length of the games that you buy.

Bought it in the steam winter sale and loved it. One of the few games ive played recently that plays on my my emotions. Far too short though.

I like the way it subtly breaks the fourth wall, like at the end *no large spoilers so its okay* a character looks at the camera and says "you tried to be something you're not, a hero." referring to the player trying to be a hero. Also the way the talk between you and your squad members gets more and more desperate from "tango down" at the beginning of the game to "just f***ing kill them all!" at the end.

Loved the story but wasn't overly impressed with the game mechanics and controls (mouse acceleration).

There were parts of the game that really bugged me in that you were not able to make a choice, most notably - Chapter 8.

Even though the Devs didn't want to add it in the gmae it's actually pretty decent.

I haven't played it, but the guys at giantbomb seam to love the game. I'm hoping I can pick it up soon.

Excellent game, good story, highly recommend it.
